What We Do
We work to bring the community together to create early intervention systems and promote positive cultural behaviors that help prevent substance abuse and suicide. We use data to identify current issues. Our resources, funded by county prevention grants, are based on proven methods.
We believe local problems are best solved with local solutions.
How we do it
Creating a community that values reducing the risk for suicide and substance abuse.
- The office of Prevention works within the community to identify root causes of substance abuse and suicide and bring solutions that benefit without causing harm.
- Coalition members are empowered to share their unique talents to accomplish together what cannot be done alone in creating a community that values reducing the risk for suicide and substance abuse.
- Community partners engage in issue identification and resolution. Partners utilize, promote and distribute prevention resources.
